Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee has designated February 4th, 11th and 18th as collection dates for “Undie Sundays”! In our schools, some children will have accidents or show-up without basic necessities. School counselors or nurses try to manage this need. A large hamper, in the back of the Sanctuary, will be used to collect NEW underwear, t-shirts, socks and sweat tops & bottoms for Lincoln Elementary School students. Please collect child sizes (small, medium and large). If you have adult sizes to donate, we can deliver those to Hope House or other agencies as well. This is a great way to share the love of Jesus with our community in a very basic way.

First Baptist is partnering with Communities In Schools of Mid-America to host a snack drive for Ottawa area kids. This will be an ongoing Outreach opportunity throughout the spring semester. Children facing hunger at home often need a nutritional snack during the day so they can focus on their studies instead of their tummies. Please consider donating items such as granola bars, breakfast bars and individual packages of peanut butter or cheese crackers, squeeze-top apple sauce, trail-mix raisins or bottled water. Thank you for continuing to support our student so they can be successful. Look for milk crates along the back of the Sanctuary to leave your snack.

Please contact Chris Bean, Outreach Committee Chair, for more information about any of the above events/activities…248-6226.
