Outreach Committee

Please join First Baptist Church Saturday, October 28th, for our first Trunk or Treat event. Decorate your trunk with a theme and hand out a treat to all kids who come to the event.  Our event will be held in conjunction with the downtown Spook Parade that day from noon to 2:00. You will need to back your car in toward the Courthouse so the children can walk on the sidewalks to receive their treats. The First Methodist Church will be hosting a fall festival with games and food for the children during the same time. We need your HELP! Please consider getting involved with this event by donating treats, hosting a decorated trunk, volunteer to run the popcorn or cotton candy machines or help with set-up or clean-up. Lots of volunteers are needed to make this event a success and we’d love to have you join us! There will be a sign-up sheet at the back of the church with different options for you to get involved and be a part of this outreach to our community. Questions? Contact an outreach committee member or call Chris Bean 785-248-6226.
→Would you consider being a HOMETEAM HOST FAMILY for an O.U. student? Information has been given to students interested in participating in this program. If you are interested in providing an occasional home-cooked meal, a place to ‘hang-out’ off campus, laundry opportunities  and establishing a relationship outside of the school setting, it is a great way to reach out and develop a relationship with students.
Please contact Chris Bean, Outreach Committee Chair, for more information about any of the above events/activities…248-6226.
